I was searching on Amazon for a new playmat and came across the INCX playmat rug that can pull together and double as a storage organizer. It met all my requirements: 1. Big enough for both kids (It’s 58×58). 2. Adorable and photo opp worthy. 3. Affordable. It’s just $24.99, which is a steal. Other mats this size are going for at least $75 on Amazon. I purchased it and my kids and I love it. My husband actually complemented it too instead of yelling at me for shopping online again. My daughter even likes to use it as a blanket. I didn’t add the string for the storage function because we don’t plan on folding up. I love that it gives my kids a fun and clean space to play, especially one that is free of dog fur and dirty paws, which any pet owner can relate to! I’ll buy this for all friends as they have babies. There are so many cute styles! I basically want another! Great holiday gift, too! Advertisements
My baby shower with Genevieve was themed “You Are My Sunshine.” I didn’t want to go the expected pink route and this was perfect. Of course I helped plan! I found my perfect dress at Asos Maternity and believe it or not, the cake was from Shop Rite!
My friend’s gave me a surprise sprinkle for Luca. It was so adorable! My friend Alaina made the most adorable cake and everyone put so much thought into every detail.
I recently attended my first Blessingway ceremony, honoring my husband’s cousin Kate, who is my daughter’s Godmother. When first reading about the ceremony, I thought it was going to be a really weird, hippie type of event. The truth is, this is not your average “baby shower.” It’s an intimate moment shared with a select inner circle. In this case, that included mostly breastfeeding moms and lactation consultants who are Kate’s colleagues. I was the only formula-feeding mommy in attendance, but we all had one thing in common: a love for our babies. Here’s what happens at a Mother’s Blessing: All attendees were instructed to bring the following items, as listed below. 1. Centerpiece offering. This is an item from your matrilineal line which each attendee will place on the center table (you take it back at the close of the party). It may be something that your own mother or grandmother gave to you at some point or when you became a mother yourself. Or, it can be something that the mommy-to-be would recognize, which signifies something special about your connection to her. 2. A bead …
I planned my baby shower because I’m obsessed with party details. Although I knew I was having a girl, I wanted to keep the baby shower a little gender neutral to avoid pink overload. I chose “You are my sunshine” as the theme because it reminded me of my childhood. The cake was my favorite part of the the decor. It really set the scene and the cannoli creme filling was delicious. I searched far and wide for the perfect dress and scored mine from Asos Maternity. The menu was full of finger food for the health nuts and food junkies among us. The deconstructed BLTs in mini Mason jars were a big hit! For favors, we made tiny pin cushions from jars and filled them with jelly beans. It was hard work, but the result was worth it. Part of the decor included square photos strung for guests to view. They were pictures during my pregnancy and my husband and myself as babies. Here’s the day in snap shots to hopefully inspire your shower!
